BLC Celebrates Bristol's Cultural Scene
The Bristol Language Centre has today celebrated all that Bristol has to offer its international students with a refurbishment of its premises.
|
Bristol, UK (ePressReleases.org) May 30, 2012 - As part of the refurbishment, the centre has unveiled a new mural in its entrance lobby that depicts places of interest in and around Bristol. The graffiti wall was designed and painted by up-and-coming local artists from the rich urban arts scene in Bristol.
The refurbishment at BLC has seen the installation of high-tech learning aids alongside the new mural. International students studying at BLC now have access to the latest interactive learning aids, which have been installed in modern, bright classrooms. Electronic whiteboards, screens and projectors are complemented by a new cafeteria, two modern multimedia centres offering unlimited free internet access and several break-out areas with refreshment facilities.
The new graffiti wall, completed in the brand colours of BLC, has already become a talking point for students at BLC. Completed by local artists Tom Deams and Kelp, the wall signposts that BLC is an innovative place to study.
Bristol is famous for its lively and creative urban art scene, and BLC's graffiti wall is unveiled in the same month that sees the publication of Banksy's eagerly awaited review of his activity since the late 1990s. Banksy is the most famous member of the underground Bristol music and art scene, and his new book, You Are an Acceptable level of Threat, will help further cement his reputation for innovative wall art.
Bristol's artistic credentials will be further emphasised when the city plays host to the fifth annual Upfest urban art festival (2-4 June). During the festival, more than 250 international artists will paint in spaces occupying over two miles of the city centre, creating the equivalent of 20,000 square feet of artwork.
BLC is proud to be a part of an innovative and creative English city. The centre offers students modern facilities as well as innovative and creative teaching methods. With BLC you can learn English in Bristol for leisure purposes, for university, or for business, and you can train to teach English to others as a foreign language.
